The Stance takes inspiration from traditional Roman amphorae which were commonly used to store wine. Their shape is generally defined by a long and narrow body that tapers at towards the top and opens again to create a lip for pouring. The Stance emulates this but instead turns it upside down to produce a shape that feels weighted at the bottom and projects a uniform upward glow. With some modifications, the Stance was used as the centerpieces for the 66th GRAMMYs.

Material

The lamp shade is 3D printed with Polylactic Acid (PLA). PLA is a sturdy material derived from renewable resources, such as corn, sugar cane, and sugar beet.

FAQ

Can I replace the light bulb?

Yes, you can use any LED bulb in the lamp. You can follow the instruction below to replace the bulb:

  1. Unplug the lamp. From the top opening, unscrew the light bulb.
  2. Install the new light bulb. Use LED bulbs ONLY as incandescent bulbs will melt the shade. We recommend using a 40 or 60 watt equivalent, 2200k-2700k LED bulb for a warm ambience.

Can I use a smart LED bulb?

Our lamps and cables can be used with Philips Hue and LIFX smart bulbs. To use a smart LED bulb, please leave the dimmer at the highest setting and control the bulb with its app. If you have any questions regarding bulbs, please email us at info@terralabs.design.

Is the lamp cordless?

The light is not cordless. Corded lights are less prone to malfunction compared to cordless lights, which may encounter issues with battery life, charging, or connectivity over time.

How long is the cable?

The cable is 6 feet long with the dimmer switch about 1 feet from the plug.

As beautiful as they are funtional. I appreciate that they did not skimp on the cord or dimmer switch or light bulb, which are high quality, just like the lamps themselves . They are lighter than I’d have expected, but I don’t think they are going to float away. They were packaged with care and arrived in perfect shape. I bought a pair for my bedroom nightstands and will like buy more for other bedrooms in the fiture.

Beautiful ambient lighting

This lamp is lovely- gives a gorgeous amber glow when bright lights are too much. The dimmer switch is awesome.
