The Proto table lamp is a funky adaptation of our Amoeba table lamp, staying true to the organic theme and providing a lifelike sense of a cellular organisms. This lamp offers a distinct tactile experience as well as a second inner layer that creates a unique sense of depth when looking through the bulging windows.

By controlling the materials transparent and opaque characteristics we were able to create a holographic illusion that changes as the viewer observes the lamps from different directions.

Material

The lamp shade is 3D printed with Polylactic Acid (PLA). PLA is a sturdy material derived from renewable resources, such as corn, sugar cane, and sugar beet.

FAQs

Can I replace the light bulb?

Yes, you can use any LED bulb in the lamp. You can follow the instruction below to replace the bulb:

  1. Unplug the lamp. Unscrew the base from the bottom. Remove the base.
  2. Unscrew the light bulb and Install the new light bulb. Use LED bulbs ONLY as incandescent bulbs will melt the shade. We recommend using a 40 or 60 watt equivalent, 2200k-2700k LED bulb for a warm ambience.
  3. Align the holes of the base and the diffuser. Reinstall the pieces back with screws.

Can I use a smart LED bulb?

Our lamps and cables can be used with most smart LED bulbs. If you want to use a smart LED bulb, please leave the dimmer at the highest setting and control the bulb with its app. If you have any questions regarding bulbs, please email us at info@terralabs.design.

Is the lamp cordless?

The light is not cordless. Corded lights are less prone to malfunction compared to cordless lights, which may encounter issues with battery life, charging, or connectivity over time.

How long is the cable?

The cable is 6 feet long with the dimmer switch about 1 feet from the plug.
